Men's basketball
San Francisco opens the Rex Walters Era when it kicks off the 2008-09 season in the Islands against Hawaii Nov. 14.
2007-08 highlights:
- Sophomore forward Dior Lowhorn led the WCC in scoring (20.5) and earned first-team all-league honors
- Lowhorn's 636 points was the fourth-highest total in USF single-season history
- Junior forward Manny Quezada moved into 38th place on the USF career scoring chart (838) after just two seasons on the Hilltop
- Senior guard Danny Cavic and sophomore guard Christian Hernandez were named to the WCC All-Academic Team

Women's basketball
2007-08 highlights:
- Dons took a 101-96 win over Colorado State in first ever triple-overtime game
- USF earned a huge 88-73 victory over WCC and Bay Area rival Santa Clara at home
- Dons posted a season high six-game winning streak (Dec. 2-20)
- Dominique Carter ended her prolific career second on the Dons all-time scoring chart and third on the WCC chart with 1,800 points
- Carter also earned her fourth consecutive West Coast Conference first-team nod. Carter becomes just the second four-time first-team selection (2005-08), following former Don Brittany Lindhe (1995-99)

Men's soccer
2007 highlights:
- Ranked as high as No. 12 in the national polls during the regular season
- Dons beat No. 11 Cal 2-1
- Rob Valentino (first round, New England) and Brandon McDonald (fourth round, Los Angeles) selected in MLS draft

- Head coach Mark Carr began his first season on the Hilltop in 2007
- USF won its league opener against Bay Area rival Saint Mary's 2-1
- USF blanked WCC foe Gonzaga 3-0

2007 highlights:
- Swept No. 12 San Diego for highest-ranked win in program history Swept Santa Clara for first win against the Broncos since 1989
- Sophomore Haley Carroll named WCC Defender of the Year and led league in digs with 522 (4.97)
- Senior Kristin Hasselberg set new career kills record (1,530)
