Not only is it the scene for some of the most jaw-dropping moments in racing, but Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is also revered as racing Mecca among the international motorsports community. The 2012 season features five major race events. From Ferrari to prototype cars and motorcycles to historic race cars, visitors will be able to see and feel all the action up close.

For those who favor environmentally conscious high-tech racing, the American Le Mans Monterey, presented by Patron, features racing with a green alternative-fuel focus. The six-hour endurance race runs into the darkness the weekend of May 11-12 and features several classes on the track at the same time to provide nonstop passing and pit lane activity.

Ferrari Racing Days return to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca May 18-20 with three full days of racing with the Ferrari 458 Challenge and Corse Clienti program. The Ferrari Challenge series allows Ferrari owners the opportunity to compete wheel-to-wheel while providing Ferrari enthusiasts the chance to watch these vehicles in their natural environment — the race track.

The world's elite motorcycle riders will be at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to compete for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, featuring the MotoGP World Championship July 27-29. These daring riders provide heart-pumping action while attacking the course in close quarters and knee-dragging fashion. Even non-motorcycle fans can appreciate the sound, speed and excitement.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is a museum bursting to life. Car enthusiasts who appreciate the past and want to see authentic period-correct cars on the track visit Monterey for a celebration of car culture Aug. 17-19. This year the featured marque is the Shelby Cobra, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The Continental Tire Sports Car Festival, powered by Mazda, will feature the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Sept. 7-9. Fans will see high-performance Daytona Prototypes in this exclusive sports car racing series of North America. Superstar drivers provide close racing in both the prototype division and the GT class production-based sports cars.

Complementing the events is the bustling Yamaha Marketplace, where visitors can stroll through shopping outposts and select from a variety of food and refreshments. The Marketplace also features interactive activities for race fans of all ages, exhibits of cars and motorcycles from premier companies, as well as contests and giveaways.
